I am looking forward to film as literature because I am already big into movies, but want to further and better my understanding of this topic. I think I know a decent amount of how film is made, produced, and put together but still feel this course will make me truly understand what goes during the film that I normally would’nt recognize or spot. This should be a interesting class as I am already excited.

Throughout the book “Black and White,” there many characters that played a big role and showed many emotions, but one stuck out the most. Eddie, one of two main characters, changed a lot during the novel and without a doubt discovered something not only about himself but in life as well. Through adversity, struggle, and stress he surprisingly handled it well, but in the end, his past will haunt him in his thoughts most likely for the rest of his life. Set in an urban city, he was forced to do many unfortunate tasks, but he still had the chance to say “no.” Worst of all, most of the damage and consequences didn’t even occur to Eddie, it was his best and closest friend who got to suffer all the issues and major problems, while he couldn’t do anything but regret his past.

Sumarrize: This book is about two best freinds who are trying to find out how to earn money to pay their class dues coming up in a few weeks, since they’re seniors and graduating in half a year. The main character is Eddie and Marcus who share the role of the narrartor every other chapter. Both of them seem to be outgoing when it comes to their personal characteristics and personality. This stoy is set in today’s modern world and is placed in the middle of New York City, therefore they are unfortunately surrounded by crime and violence.
Evaluate: I think the author is a good writer because his description and detail for each scene and character is said very well. He comes across as being a well-established and well-rounded author who is proficient at all attributes of writing. I like the story because it has a good plot and and the charcaters make it interesting to read due to their humor and outgoing acts. At the same time as having humor, the plot of the book is pretty serious and has a decent amount of drama. Overall there is a good mixture of them both and temps you to read on.
